5 Question Friday

My Little Life
I normally participate in FFF but I didn't have any pictures of my kids making or baking other than a picture I got of Kaitlyn last night rolling the deer meat in flour!!  I want to do a gingerbread house with the kids this year but we just haven't gotten around to it yet.  Hopefully I will have this to show you later.  Although I am not participating in FFF today, you can still go over and check it out.  I decided to participate in 5 question Friday.  I did this last week too and I enjoyed it, plus I need your help with one of the questions.

1. Does Santa wrap the presents he leaves at your house?

Here is the one I need your help with.  Every since I was a little girl, if Santa brought a gift Christmas Eve, he wrapped it but Christmas morning, he didn't wrap them and I have carried down this tradition with my kids.  I think it is neat to see their faces when they round the corner and see what is under the tree with the gift just sitting there.  Here is the deal.  Kenleigh wants a Handy Manny Repair Shop which will be big and Santa can sit it out and she will be all excited.  Kaitlyn wants a Nintendo DS which is small and I just can't see having hers not wrapped??  What do you think?   Should Santa wrap the Nintendo DS?  He also got a starter kit to go with it and some games but the games will go in her stocking.

2. When is your "big" Christmas celebration...Christmas Eve or Christmas Day? Tell us about it...
Christmas Eve.  OMgosh!!  We have three major places we go Christmas Eve.  First of all, around 1 or 2 in the afternoon we go to my moms and have sandwiches and just finger foods and we open our gifts.  Then we rush home and put up our gifts (well, throw them in the front door) then we have a big dinner that night with my mother-in-laws side of the family.  This will be the first Christmas without Pa.  It will be very sad, but we need to keep up the tradition and be there for Ma.  Then later that night, say around 7 or later we got up to my mother-in-laws and we eat finger foods, again.  I am busting out of my pants by this time, LOL!!  We draw names amongst my husband's family.  So we open gifts with them.  Oh, I am so tired already!!

3.
Are you big on keeping tradition every year?
Oh yes, I am very anal about stuff like that.  Last year my Grandma died the week before Christmas and my dad and aunt came to my house instead of going to my aunts like we have for as long as I can remember.  It just wasn't the same.

4.
Do colored lights or white lights tickle your fancy?
I like both but my tree has colored.

5.
Do you decorate outside your house for Christmas?

No.  I do good to get all my stuff put up inside!!  If we ever build a new house, I might put stuff outside.

Happy Friday and I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

  1. Santa never wraps over here. No matter how big or small. But that is only three presents. The rest are from us and are wrapped. They get three gifts from Santa because that is how many gifts Jesus got.
    I don't decorate outside either.

  2. Hmm...we don't do Santa here but I think it is cool when he leaves them unwrapped. Maybe you could set the DS on top of something bigger so it will be seen easier and just place a bright bow on it. If she is really (REALLY) wanting it, she will be looking for it anyway :)

Loved your questions and answers...I love that kind of stuff!

  3. We wrap unless they are gifts that need to be assembled beforehand. I wanted to ask how is your father-in-law doing??
