Word Filled Wednesday

Word Filled Wednesdays Pictures, Images and Photos

candy cane Pictures, Images and Photos

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his stripes you have been healed.  1 Peter 2:24

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.  Psalm 23:1.

Tonight in my AWANA group, I am going to do a devotion on The Candy Cane.  The candy cane can look like the shape of a J and should remind us of Jesus.  We can also look at it like a shepherd's crook.  The white represents purity.  The three red stripes reminds us that Jesus was beaten with a whip.

  2. Fantastic idea for a lesson; I love your blog. It is so beautiful and festive, perfect for the holidays.

Wonderful way to use the candy cane to share a lesson on what our Father's Son endure in our place so we would have freedom from sin.

  6. I had heard about the imagery behind the candy cane -- J for Jesus, white for symbolizing washing away our sin with his red blood. Beautiful. I think that many of our Christmas traditions have a Biblical base that has gotten lost over the years.
