Ok, I know I am a little late but if you read my previous posts we have been busy and sick and I have got to get my priorities in order. So I still have 2-3 more posts to catch up on and hopefully I can get that done this weekend. Last Wednesday night at church we had a treat walk where different families or different AWANA groups set up tables in our family life center and the kids can go around and trick or treat those tables. I had planned to do a devotion with my 12 Sparks in my classroom. Last minute plans, I was asked to give the devotion in the family life center in front of Cubbies through Sparks and lots of adults. I was very nervous, but it went well and I was asked by a 1st grader how to be saved. I was so nervous but I explained it to him to the best of my ability. I was also kind of excited to be given this opportunity. The kids dressed as Bible characters.
Here are my 12 Sparkies!!

The pumpkin below the pumpkin I used for my devotion. My wonderful husband drew it for me and I carved it. I got this idea from a fellow blogger. The eyes are crosses, the nose is a heart and the mouth is the fish symbol.

Wow! Explaining salvation to a 1st grader can be tricky. I bet you did an awesome job! I love getting opportunities like that!
ReplyDeleteWHat a great idea!!! My hubby is the AWANA commander at our church-I will mention this idea to him for next year!
