Sunday Blessings

I received such a blessing this morning teaching my Sunday School class which, by the way, one of kids is my own daughter who is 2 1/2. It is the 2 and 3-year-old class. They were so sweet and just soaked up the story I was telling them. The story was about Ruth who followed her mother-in-law Naomi back to Bethlehem after the death of her husband and two sons. Her daughter-in-law Ruth did not want her to take the trip alone. I was explaining to the kids that it was a long trip back to Bethlehem and that they were walking and that I bet that Naomi probably needed to stop and rest and probably got thirsty and hungry along the way. I asked two of the children if they would have helped Naomi get something to drink and they shook their heads and said oh yes they would. Well, I get to my child, who by the way had just been crying for a "cupppie" and my assistant went and got her a cup, and I asked her if she would have helped Naomi get something to drink and she said "NO, she wouldn't." My assistant asked her if she had wanted a "cuppie" would she have helped her and she still said no. Leave it to my child. Then they sang a little song about going to Bethlehem. They just truly blessed my heart today!!

My daddy celebrated his birthday on September 17 but I was unable to see him on this day so I went and visited him today and had a great visit and we watched the Arkansas Razorbacks Football game together, which they won!! YEA. Woo pig sooie!! I don't get to see my dad as often as I would like but am just thankful that I have him.

Handy Kenleigh

My husband and I married 10 years ago and in the months leading up to our wedding we remodeled our house that we live in which was his grandparents house which makes it very special to us. We don't have central heat and air but I am thankful for what we do have. We have gas heat so in the winter when the ice storms roll through, like they have at least two to three times that I can think of since we have been married, we still have heat when we lose electricity. So when the weather starts turning off cooler we have to clean out our infrared heaters to get ready to crank on the heat. This is always my husbands job. Well this year he had a little help. Kenleigh was helping him by using a screwdriver. It was so cute. She brought him everything he needed and she would ask herself a question and then she would answer herself by saying "I sure can!!"

I Better Stay Here

So I go to pick up Kenleigh from Granny and Papaw's yesterday and she is under the carport in her "little tikes car, which she absolutely loves, and I asked her if she was ready to go and she looks at me with this sweet look and says, "No, I better stay here." I just almost lost it, it was so funny. When I asked her why she just said cause. I asked her again and she said "No again, I better stay here." So I knew that granny was tired and needed her afternoon nap, so I finally asked her if she wanted to go find Handy Manny and she was ready to go them. So we go home and we cannot find Handy Manny on TV. I called daddy to ask him to pick up a Handy Manny movie on his way home since he is stopping by Wal-Mart. He comes home with a Alvin and the Chipmunks Halloween video and Kenleigh does not like this. So tonight we got her a Dora Halloween movie but daddy says she can't watch it until she starts doing better with her potty training. I was kind of sad about this, but I have got to stick to my guns!! She knows when she is going she just doesn't want to take the time to go.

Ainslee's 7th Birthday Party

Kaitlyn and Kenleigh went to Ainslee's birthday party Saturday evening. It was a PJ party without spending the night. They had a blast. We got there a little late so the girls missed out on dress up time but we did, however, get there just in time for the pizza. Kenleigh thought she was just as big as the other girls. The played a game where they sat in the floor and music was playing and they passed around a bottle of nail polish. When the music stopped whoever was holding the bottle of nail polish had to paint a fingernail. The girls had a good time with that. Then they had cake and ice cream. Leisa made the cake. It was great!!! Then Ainslee got to open her gifts.Emma, Kaitlyn and Ainslee enjoying their pizza!!

FunFest/Revival 2009

This has been a very busy week and weekend. I have worked on Kaitlyn's float all week for FunFest on Saturday as well as we had Revival with Brother Jerry Jolly, which was AWESOME. I always enjoy hearing brother Jolly preach. One of the sermons Brother Jolly preached on was second chances and I am so thankful for that and I believe everybody deserves a second chance. Look what Jesus did for you and me. Wow!!

Friday night a group that I have joined, "Just The Girls," served BBQ as a fundraiser for the Susan G. Koman foundation and we raised close to $500. WOW!! Kaitlyn and her friend Abreanna got up and sang karaoke. Kenleigh also got up and sang Jesus Loves Me with her sister and cousin Madison. They had a great time.

Saturday was the parade and Kaitlyn's float was "Rockin' Through The First Grade." They were all very cute. We had breakfast at the church and then chili lunch at the church that afternoon.
