Thankful Thursday on Sunday

I am participating in Thankful Thursday on Sunday because as soon as I picked up Kaitlyn from school on Thursday I went to get a perm and then my mom took me and the girls out to eat and then when we got home I had to do homework with Kailtyn and then it was time for bed.  So I apologize, but it is never too late to say what I am thankful for.  So here goes.  Oh, if you would like to participate next week, just join Sonya over at Truth 4 the Journey.

1.  FRIENDS.  The Lord has blessed me with lots of friends and my story for my Sunday school class today was about the paralytic man.  Mark 2:1-12.  Jesus had came to town and lots of people were gathered around the house, blocking the door and the windows.  The paralytic man had four friends who could have turned away and told their friend that today was not a good day because they couldn't get to Jesus, but instead they crawled onto the roof and lowered their friend down on his bed and Jesus healed him.  That is some awesome friends. 

2.  FAMILY.  The Lord has blessed me with a wonderful family and also a wonderful church family.  I don't know what I would do without either family.

3.  SHELTER.  I am thankful that God has blessed me with a roof over my head.  I know there are so many homeless people that don't have a place to lay their head down at night.  I often times take things for granted.

4.  IN-LAWS.  My mother and father-in-law watch my youngest during the day while I work at home and last week my father-in-law was sick and I had Kenleigh most of the week.  So I am thankful that I have them to watch her while I work and don't have to put her in a day-care.

5.  MY MOM.  My mom is off on Monday's and she comes and gets both girls and takes Kaitlyn to school and takes Kenleigh back to her house and watches her for the day and then when school is out I go get Kailtyn and we got back to my moms and either she cooks or I cook and most of the time it is my mom cooking.  I don't know what I would do without her.

I have so much to be thankful for, but these were just a few I could think of today.  I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend.

FFF - Beautiful Gifts

Ok, I have to admit that when I participated last week and I was reading the theme for this week, I thought it said "Beautiful Girls".  I sometimes read through things too fast.  I thought and even commented on Hannah's blog that I wouldn't have any trouble with this post because I have two beautiful girls.  Ok, I know you are probably laughing at me.  Well, laying all jokes aside, my beautiful gifts would have to be:

1.  The free gift of salvation.  I am so thankful that God knew that I was going to need a savior long before I was ever born.






2.  My husband and my "beautiful girls."

Word Filled Wednesday/Veterans' Day

I also wanted to share this video with you today.  One of my FB friends posted a video by the Cactus Cuties back a few months ago of the National Anthem and I posted it on my blog also.  I absolutely fell in love with these girls!!  They are awesome and I found this song on You Tube and felt it appropriate to share with you today on WFW and also Veteran's Day.  Please remember all of those who are serving our country and also the tragedy that happened last week in Fort Hood.  My brother is stationed there and thank the Lord he and his family are okay.

This is Kaitlyn almost two years ago at her preschool graduation.  She has grown up so much over the last couple of years.  I miss my baby!!

Music Monday

If your followers found your iPod and viewed your playlist, which artist/band would they be surprised to find? 

Well, please don't laugh at me.  I don't own an iPod.  But I was thinking......I don't listen to anything much other than country or contemporary Christian....but I have to admit, I also love old 70s music and I absolutely love this old David Allen Coe song.  I can remember when me and my husband first started dating we used to go eat at this steak house where the waitresses would do stop every so often and do a line dance.  They would play this song and we would always sing really loud to this song.  There would be a huge table of a bunch of different couples of us.  I hope you enjoy this.  

 

We Are The Champions.............

I went back to my old stomping ground this past Friday for the last home football game of the season.  I haven't been to a ballgame since my 10 year class reunion almost 5 years ago and then had not been there since I was in high school.  But I wanted to go since they are undefeated and this has not happened since like 1969!!  So I was pretty excited to be going.  They won 47 to 6.  Playoff bound!!  Since my girls go to a different school I had to get them a Bald Knob Bulldog shirt.  I went with my best friends Shannon and Amanda.  We had a great time.  It was like old times again.  I felt like a teenager!!  It was also neat because they had all the football players from 1969 there and they were all wearing jerseys with their numbers on them and they were recognized at halftime.

Kaitlyn's First Deer!!!

This weekend was the youth hunt and Kenny had asked Kaitlyn last week if she wanted to go and she said yes.  So he took her last week to teach how to shoot a gun.  We went to a ballgame last night and didn't get home until almost 10, so she didn't want to get up and go this morning.  She said she would be too tired, so they went this afternoon and her daddy never dreamed she would kill anything.  He thought they would just go out there to spend some quality time together especially since when they got out there and she kept rustling leaves and digging in the dirt, etc............  Well, daddy spots the deer and he tells her there is a deer and she says "really"..........anyways, if daddy was writing this blog post, I am sure he would give you every detail of the hunt, but I will get to the point.  I was at home and I heard a gunshot and I thought oh, I bet she shot a deer and then I heard another shot.  I told Kenleigh I bet her sister had shot a deer.  A few minutes later the phone rings.  It is Kaitlyn.  She says, "I got it!!"  She was so excited.

I had to get in the picture too.  This is my baby girl's first deer!!  So exciting.

Here is cousin Johnathon giving her a thumbs up on her deer!!  We figured they were both around the same age when they both got their first deer!!

My husband said he didn't guess he had to have boys to have a hunter for a child.  He was so excited.  I think it is wonderful for kids to go hunting and learn how to use guns in a responsible manner and make memories with your children.
