For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotton son, that whosoever shall believeth in him, should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Halloween - A Week Late...........

Kenleigh the bumble bee and Kaitlyn a 50's girl!!

Halloween is like a major holiday for us.  My mom lives about 10 miles up the road.  We always go to family and friends that we haven't seen all year and even though we only go to about 10 to 12 homes, it takes us all night because sometimes we stay and visit for a little while.  We started at 5 and didn't get home until after 10:30 although we had got supper before we went to my moms and stayed there for a few hours.

Last year Granny and Papaw were in Little Rock getting chemo treatments and we didn't get to trick or treat them.  It was very sad.  We always go to their house first.  So we were so excited to get to be able to trick or treat them again!!

Going to Ma and Pa's this year was sad since Pa was not there.  We miss you Pa!!

We met up with Johnathon and Lacey at where else but Sonic!!  Lol!!  They had 50 cent corndogs!!

Last stop, Mimi's house where we met up with my BFF Kim and her daughter Karlie.
One week later and I am still trying to recover from this busy night and also trying to find a spot for all the candy!!

Treat Walk

Ok, I know I am a little late but if you read my previous posts we have been busy and sick and I have got to get my priorities in order.  So I still have 2-3 more posts to catch up on and hopefully I can get that done this weekend.  Last Wednesday night at church we had a treat walk where different families or different AWANA groups set up tables in our family life center and the kids can go around and trick or treat those tables.  I had planned to do a devotion with my 12 Sparks in my classroom.  Last minute plans, I was asked to give the devotion in the family life center in front of Cubbies through Sparks and lots of adults.  I was very nervous, but it went well and I was asked by a 1st grader how to be saved.  I was so nervous but I explained it to him to the best of my ability.  I was also kind of excited to be given this opportunity. The kids dressed as Bible characters.

Here are my 12 Sparkies!!

Here is brother
Troy as the
"candy bandit."!!

The pumpkin below the pumpkin I used for my devotion.  My wonderful husband drew it for me and I carved it.  I got this idea from a fellow blogger.  The eyes are crosses, the nose is a heart and the mouth is the fish symbol.

FFF - Black and White Beauty

Today is FFF and the them is Black and White beauty.  Well, my dear friends Shannon who I have been friends with for about 18 years is also a photographer.  So I found this picture that she took one day while she had my girls last summer while my father-in-law was in the hospital with a very dangerous blood clot as a result of his multiple myeloma.  It is good to know that my kids are in such good care when I leave them with Shannon.  Thanks Shannon and Steven.

Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday at Truth 4 the Journey

Today is "Thankful Thursday"  If you would like to participate, please join Sonya at Truth 4 the Journey.  Just list 5 things that you are thankful for.  Our God is so good, that it shouldn't be hard at all.  So, here goes:

1. I am so thankful that my Sparks group went so smooth last night.  God is good..........all the time and we had a great club night.

2.  I am thankful that Kenleigh is doing a lot better this week than she was this time last week.  Please say a special prayer.  I have to take her back to the doctor tomorrow to make sure her kidney infection is cleared up.  My poor baby has really been through it the last few weeks.

3.  I am thankful that God answers prayers.  One of my dear friends from high schools, son was in the hospital this week with the possible swine flu.  He has been one sick little boy and he has had a lot of prayers going up on his behalf and last I heard he was probably going to get to home today.  This swine flu is pretty scary, but nothing is too great for our God.

4.  I am thankful for my family.  God has truly blessed me with a wonderful husband, and two beautiful daughters.

5.  I am thankful for this time of year.  I love the holidays when we get together with family and eat and just spend time together.

Word Filled Wednesday

Word Filled Wednesdays Pictures, Images and Photos

sins washed away Pictures, Images and Photos

I am up to 12 Sparkies on Wednesday nights.  Praise the Lord!!  Tonight my devotion was taken from 1 John 2:2  And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our's only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

Last week I gave a devotion using a pumpkin and I explained to the kids that we should be a shining light for Jesus.  I had one child ask me how to be saved.  I was so nervous, but I explained it the best I could and one kid jumped in and said "He forgave ONE of my sins."  I have thought this week that that would make a perfect devotion for this week.  So I decided to use this verse to explain that he forgives ALL our sins and he also forgives EVERYBODY'S sins.  I was starting to get a little frustrated because Wednesday nights have been so crazy lately, but tonight was wonderful.  I worked with 3 kids that were just wonderful.  They quoted scriptures left and right.  It is wonderful to hear the kids quoting God's word!!

Ruby Tuesday/Red Ribbon Week

Ruby Tuesday Pictures, Images and Photos
I have a lot of cathing up to do since I haven't been on here in a while.  But I will start by telling you about last week, which was a very busy week.  It was red ribbon week and at our school everyday is a different themed day.  So  let me just go ahead and get started.

Monday was "Redneck Day".  Kaitlyn was mad in this picture because she wanted to go out and put some dirt on clothes, but her mimi always takes her to school on Monday's and well, Mimi didn't want any dirt in her vehicle.  LOL!!

Tuesday was crazy sock day.  It was raining very hard on this day and she talked me into wearing flip flops with her crazy socks.  But, you wouldn't be able to see her socks had she wore regular shoes.

Wednesday was wear Red day.  So Kaitlyn wore her red peace sign shirt since she loves peace signs these days.

I don't have a picture for Thursday!!  So sorry.  It was Rock Star Day.  But my Wednesday's are SOOOOOOO busy, that I just didn't have time to get anything together and believe you me, Kaitlyn was not happy........BUT Friday is the best day anyways!!!  The last two years Kaitlyn has got to participate in a Book Character Parade.  So she decided to be Sharpay from the book High School Musical 2 since our good friends Steven and Shannon got her the costume last year for her birthday.  So...........we saved the best for last.................................

I knew you would love it!!

So join Mary at The Work Of The Poet if you would like to participate in Ruby Tuesday.  I hope to have a Halloween post and more as soon as time allows.

Music Monday

Today is Music Monday. I have not been on my computer in about a week. My youngest child came and got in bed with me last Monday night and threw up in my bed and was running a fever and I just assumed she had a stomach bug that was going around. I felt terrible when I took her to the doctor to find out that she had a really bad kidney infection. I felt like a horrible parent and realized then I am addicted to my computer and stay on here WAY TOO MUCH!! And not enough time with my family. So, I still enjoy blogging and facebooking but my family has to be my top priority.

Please join Tara over at Keeping Up With The Kelly's.

Let me take you back almost 15 years ago.  The year I graduated high school, 1995, my dear friend, Kenyatta Haynes was a beautiful cheerleader who was about to begin a new job at the local drive-in.  She was such a sweet, christian girl.  I will never forget, she always would pray over her food before she would eat everyday at lunch.  I was always impressed by that.  After school one day she was waiting before time to come back to school for cheer leading practice so she had her friend run her to town to get something to eat.  We would never see her alive again.  She was reported missing and her family formed a search team and finally found her.  I will never forget I was in keyboarding class and the bell rang to go to the next class and someone came over the intercom announcing to stay in your class and not go to the next one.  I knew then they had found her.  One of the football players came around getting her closest friends out of class to tell us that she had been found.

This was a very tragic and sad time.  Last week this was on the front page of the state newspaper and I have been thinking of her family all week.  The first time I heard this song, Kenyatta instantly came to my mind.  The name of the song is "Who You'd Be Today."  I just wonder where Kenyatta would be today.  I hope you enjoy the song and hopefully next week, I will have something not so depressing.
